20. Kris Trappeniers

I've always been fascinated with paper cutouts, but I never had the patients to work with paper, or cutting tools. However Kris Trappeniers creates some dope, cutout portraits, and does it in a way that is different and pleasing to look at.

Trappeniers draws these images, which looks like a quick loose sketch and creates a stencil using an x-acto knife. When the stencil is done, he uses spray paint for canvas, cardboard, vinyl, wood and walls.

The image below gives you an idea of how he creates his work, which is very intense. He cuts each one of his organic shapes, individually. He's able to create shadows, and detail within the eyes. This man has taken cutouts to a whole new level. I really like the fact that it’s not clean cut, like a lot of cutouts I’ve seen, it almost makes it unbelievable that someone is capable of creating something like this with a knife.

I honestly don't know how he created this woman in stencil. The line are very thin, and so close together
